Safeway with Ibotta deals!

Safeway Haul Using Ibotta App! 9/13/2013

This was probably the most fun, most complicated but MOST rewarding Haul yet!
I recently learned through The Krazy Coupon Lady that there is this amazing app out there that you can download to your smartphone and literally make money with it! It's not coupons, it's cash you're earning! So,with the app, coupons, and store deals loaded to my safeway card, I was able to purchase $49.82 for only $13.24!  I paid $13.49 (of which I actually got back $.25 because the cashier missed the 50% off sticker on the yogurt I bought) bringing my total to $13.24 for items I would have paid $49.82 for!! The best part is, I redeemed items that are available offers from Ibotta and since I redeemed 5 in the first 2 weeks I will be getting back a total of $14.25 bringing my Grand Total to..............BAM! -$1.01!!!!!! I got PAID $1.01 to bring home nearly $50 in groceries!! If you are interested in the app and want to get the deals too, Please click on this link http://ibotta.com/r/Qh56GQ

So, this is the receipt from Safeway, I had a coupon loaded to my card for $5 off a purchase of $20 or more, and several other coupons that pertained to the items I bought. The "Grocery" coupon at the bottom is the "Doubler" coupon coming off, therefore is not reflected in the cookies price. I purchased 8 bags of Nabisco cookies @their sale price of 5 for $5. I had 4 coupons for $1/2 Nabisco products making them only $.50 ea, but with the doubler coupon adding another $.50 off per 2 that made each bag only $.25! Normal price: $2.99! There are a few things that look like I didn't get any coupons on them (because frankly, I didn't have any coupons for the Ibotta items even though, if I had I would have been able to use them as well as receive my cash reward). In the end, I got Paid just over a dollar to shop today! I couldn't be more excited!

Safeway Buy 5 save $5

I love safeway sometimes! LOL

With this lovely Buy 5 save $5 sale, the Mini Wheats were $1.99/box (which I had a $1/2 coupon for which I used the doubler on to get an extra $.50 off), the Cookies were $1.49 (and I had a coupon for $1/2 on those which I also used a doubler adding another $.50 off making these only $.75 each package), and their All was only $2.99 which I used my $1/1 (and doubled adding another $.50 off making it only $1.49 total!) Making the grand total for this purchase only $5. 72!! I don't think I could stress enough how much I TOTALLY LOVE COUPONING!

QFC Haul

QFC is a Kroger company.

QFC was having an awesome sale on their cereals and crackers. They were buy 5 save $5 PLUS you could still use Mfg coupons! So, for all of this, I paid $12.09! Pretty awesome huh!? Their Quaker cereals were only $1.50 each after their sale price, and sadly I haven't gotten any Quaker coupons yet so for these cereals, that is an awesome price! General Mills were also only $1.49 ea but I did have a $1/2 making them only $1/box. Same as the crackers. The skippy came to $1.99 after their Buy 5 Save $5. All in all a really great trip!

Where do I get all my coupons!? Where to begin!

For starters, I live in an apartment complex in Vancouver, WA. At this particular place, they have 2 sets of mailboxes in a few locations. So far, I have only really focused on 2 sets of mailboxes or 2 recycle bins but I have almost every single week been able to procure 20+ inserts of the Smart Source coupons from the recycle bins right next to the mailboxes! I'm sure most of you will be wishing you had that luxury, but if you don't, you can purchase a TON of coupons online through http://www.couponsthingsbydede.com/insert-coupons-s/22.htm or on eBay. Here, you have to be on top of it, and purchase them as soon as they are available if it's something that you will use. Otherwise, when you see a good sale and you know there is a coupon out there, check eBay or coupons.com or Dede's website and hope they still have some available. So far, I haven't purchased any coupons.

My other biggest coupon contributor is simply the store website. I go to Safeway.com and Fredmeyer.com or Kroger.com and load coupons directly onto my card. This is a huge way to get savings!

Safeway also offers a "Doubler" coupon in the PNW (Pacific Northwest) that you can use to add up to $.50 to a total of 4 coupons. If you go in on several different days or several times in a day, you can use more than one of these. SOMETIMES you can get lucky and get a cashier who will let you do 2 transactions then you can use 2 doublers in the same checkout. Always ASK FIRST!

I also am the person who would see coupons attached to products in the store and peel an extra few off of some that I may not be bringing out of the store. I do feel a little bad, but hey, at least they are getting used! Also, there are "Blinkies" or the little machines in the store that pumps out coupons on a timer once one has been taken. Sometimes, if the coupon is a good one, and I know I'll use it, I'll stand there and wait for a few minutes to get a small handful (no more than 5 usually).

Some of you may be so lucky as to have access to coupon inserts in your Sunday or Saturday papers, some their ads come out on Wednesdays.

Then, there are some coupons that are printed out at the register when you check out at some grocery stores and at Fred Meyer. These are Catalinas and are usually pertaining to the items you just purchased as well as boxtops if you are purchasing participating items. If you have any other questions about where you might find more coupons, I would like to refer you to the site that got me going: http://thekrazycouponlady.com/ GO HERE! IT'S AMAZING! They will walk you through how to get started and give you great deals.

Happy Couponing!

Winco Haul

Winco trip last week. I can't find the receipt sadly but I rememer I paid $25 for everything pictured here. I had copuons for $1/1 for the breadsticks, free 1liter of pop w/purchase of any frozen pizzas (which were only $.88 each) $1/2 Hot Pockets (priced at $1.99 each making them only $1.50 a box), $1/2 Eggo making them $1.49 each, $1/2 tostitos, not to mention that the Salsa was free with the purchase of 2 bags of Tostitos chips. I bought a few things at full price, but at Winco, full price is still really low price. This was a great haul, but sadly, I can't give particulars : (

Free Ken's Salad Dressings!

Free Dressings!

Sadly, I didn't start this blog in time to be able to share this awesome deal with you all. A few weeks ago, Safeway had an awesome price in their ad for Ken's Dressings @ $1.19each. Just so happens, I had about 30 coupons for $1 off 1 bottle of Ken's Dressing! That made them only $.19 each! But wait! There's more! Now, if you go online to safeway.com, if you have a safeway "Club Card" and check out the "Just 4 U" section, in their Personalized deals, there are sometimes an additional Percentage off of certain products. As it happens, I had 10% off of any Salad Dressings loaded to my card. Because the sale price for everyone else was $1.99, I got $.20 off each bottle on top of the "in store coupon" for $1.19 making them actually PAY ME a penny for every bottle I bought! Sadly, Safeway doesn't give change but one set of coupons I did receive some change on and a few I bought with other products as I will show later on. All in all, I got 18 bottles of all different kinds of Salad Dressings for Absolutely Nothing, in fact, I walked into the store with nothing but coupons in my pocket and walked out with three cents LOL! I <3 Coupons! I'm completely addicted!!

This deal Safeway had their Kellog's cereals on sale for for 2/$4 and along with that was buy 4 boxes of any cereal and get a FREE Gallon of Milk! I had coupons for $1.00/2 so I got the cereal at $1.50/box the dressings were paying me a penny each and the milk was free so. I also got a box of Quaker Oatmeal Squares with this order (not pictured) at $1.24 after coupons making my total $7.61 w/tax! I saved $27.46!

Free Friday Download @ Kroger

Every Friday (except last week so far) Kroger puts out a free full sized item coupon that can be loaded to your Kroger card. Kroger is the Parent Company for several other stores including Fred Meyers and QFC to name just the ones that I know if in the Vancouver, WA Area. There are several others. I have gotten a full sized bag of Cheetos, a box of Hamburger Helper Ultimate, a tube of Toothpaste, and energy drinks. I have only learned about this program recently and wish I had learned about it sooner. Well, Today is your lucky day! I am going to link to you the website to go to where you can load this coupon directly to your Kroger Family Store! This weeks freebie is Emeralds Breakfast on the go! 5 count!  http://kroger.softcoin.com/programs/kroger/freefri/?banner=Kroger&origin=freefri&ytp=001034001077000000000000

My first Couponing Haul!

This was my first real attempt at couponing. I went with a planin place and didn't even realize I would do better than imagined. I went expecting to only purchase the cereal and fruit snacks and ended up with some candy as well. I planned on spending $14-15 for those boxed goods. I ended up only paying $11.80 total for everything pictured here! The trick to some things is simply checking Safeway's Just 4 U section of their website. I had a special 10% off all candy and they were b2g2free anyway. And and Safeway, in their ads, they have a coupon "doubler" that adds up to $.50 to any mfg coupon (does not work for internet coupons printed or loaded to your card or catalinas which are the coupons they print and hand to you with your receipt). So, when safeway has a sale on cheerios for $1.50/box and you have a mfg coupon for $1 off 2 that will give you $1.50 off 2 with their "doubler" coupon (max of 4 coupons may be doubled per trip) making each box only $.75! Pretty awesome right!?

So, this haul contained 13 boxes of cereal, 4 boxes of fruit snacks, and 6 candy bars all for $11.80 or Approx $.51 each I
item!

I will eventually start really breaking down everything when the sales are current, but for now, I'm just bragging about my previous, sales are over hauls. :P

Coupon bug is contagious! Beware!

Hello everyone!

I have gotten the coupon bug and will forever be infected! I spend my Wednesdays looking at the ads and coupons that most people barely glance at if at all before they chuck them in their recycle bin. Then I spend the rest of the week checking online and in stores for the best sales to match my coupons. Often I just hold onto 20+ of a single coupon til a good sale and then BLAM! Stockpile! The only downside is, now that I have started couponing, I can't possibly buy something as simple as a box of cereal for more than $1.50 a box, but I usually don't pay more than $1 a box! It's so fun to go to the store with nothing but coupons in my wallet and walk out with change in my pocket! It's a lot harder to do this now with so many couponing since the show Extreme Couponing came out. I'm excited to get to share my tips and tricks and show off my hauls and see others too. I'm hoping to keep the posts only pertaining to purchases made in the Vancouver, WA or Portland, OR areas. Happy couponing and hope you're wallet stays fat (or gets that way :D)!
